MareArts ANPR ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the MareArts ANPR mobile application (the "App").

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account Information (Optional)

If you create a business or enterprise account:

• Email Address: Used for account authentication
• Device ID: Used to validate your license and ensure security

Note: The app works without an account. Account creation is optional for business and enterprise users.

2.2 Location Data (Optional)

• GPS Location: Only collected if you enable it in settings
• Storage: Stored locally on your device to tag where plates were scanned
• NOT transmitted: Location data is never sent to our servers

2.3 License Plate Data

• Images and plate numbers: Processed using on-device AI
• Local storage: All data stored in your device's local database
• Cloud mode: Only if you explicitly choose cloud processing, images are sent to our server for OCR processing and immediately deleted after processing

2.4 Data We Do NOT Collect

• ❌ Analytics or usage statistics
• ❌ Advertising identifiers
• ❌ Device information beyond basic license validation
• ❌ Contacts or other personal data
• ❌ Payment information (handled by third-party payment processors)

3. How We Use Your Information

Account Data (Email + Device ID):

• Authenticate business/enterprise accounts
• Validate license and prevent unauthorized access
• Provide customer support

Location Data:

• Tag scan locations (stored locally only)
• Enable map view and location-based features

License Plate Data:

• Perform automatic number plate recognition (ANPR)
• Store scan history for your reference
• Enable search, filter, and export features

4. Data Storage and Security

Local Storage:

• All scan data, images, and history are stored in an encrypted local database on your device
• You control data retention (default: 30 days, configurable in settings)
• Data can be deleted anytime via app settings

Server Storage:

• Email and Device ID stored securely for license validation
• Encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS)
• Encrypted at rest in our database
• No license plate data or images stored on our servers

Security Measures:

• End-to-end encryption for API communications
• Encrypted model storage
• Secure key management
• No cloud backups without your consent

5. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do NOT share, sell, or disclose your data except in these limited cases:

• Legal Requirements: If required by law, court order, or government request
• Security: To protect our rights, property, or safety

We do NOT:

• ❌ Share data with advertisers or data brokers
• ❌ Use your data for marketing without consent
• ❌ Track you across other apps or websites
• ❌ Combine your data with third-party data

6. Your Rights and Choices

You Can:

• Use Without Account: App functions without registration
• Control Location: Enable or disable GPS in settings
• Delete Local Data: Clear history and data via app settings
• Export Data: Export your scan history to CSV
• Delete Account: Contact us to delete your account and server data

7. Data Retention

On Your Device:

• Scan data retained based on your settings (default: 30 days)
• You can delete data anytime

On Our Servers:

• Account information retained until you request deletion
• Cloud processing requests: Images processed and immediately deleted

8. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Apple Maps: For displaying scan locations (subject to Apple's Privacy Policy)
• AWS: For API hosting (GDPR and SOC 2 compliant)

We do NOT use:

• ❌ Analytics services (Google Analytics, Firebase, etc.)
• ❌ Advertising networks
• ❌ Social media SDKs
• ❌ Crash reporting services

9. Children's Privacy

Our app is not directed to children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

10. International Users

If you use our app outside your country of residence, please note that your data may be transferred to and processed in the country where our servers are located. We comply with applicable data protection laws including GDPR where applicable.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by:

• Posting the new Privacy Policy on this page
• Updating the "Last Updated" date at the top
• Notifying you via the app if changes are significant
