MASS
MASSMareArts ANPR SDK Server. The MareArts ANPR engine as a desktop app: read plates from images and folders, keep a history and a watchlist, and serve the REST API to your own software, on your own computer, with no Python setup.
MASS is in beta testing. Downloads are open to beta testers only for now. After the beta it comes with every MareArts ANPR subscription.
MASS runs the same engine and dashboard as ma-anpr server in the Python SDK, packaged with everything it needs. One MareArts ANPR license covers both.

All files are on the download page, after you sign in to marearts.com. Five downloads a day per account; updating an installed copy does not count.
Sign in
With your licence key, on this computer
- Open MASS. It starts with a sign-in window.
- Enter your e-mail and your MAEV3 licence key from your My licenses page. The key is checked on this computer, against its clock: no internet is needed to sign in.
- Optionally add the 16-character signature from the same page. It is used only for updates from inside MASS and for cloud MMC.
- The models download once (about 600 MB). Plate reading starts when they are in place.
A computer that stays offline signs in the same way. Copy the whole .marearts/anpr folder in your home folder (models and their certificates) from a computer where MASS or ANPR SDK 4 already downloaded the models.
No key at hand? Sign in online with your signature in the same window fetches it for you. The key is kept on this computer only and is not shown again in the window. Sign out, under System → Account, removes it and brings the sign-in window back.
Closing the window does not stop MASS: the engine and the REST API keep running, and the Dock or taskbar icon opens the window again. To stop it, click the MASS chip in the corner of the window and choose Quit MASS, or quit from the Dock.
When a new version is out, the chip in the corner of the window says Update available. One click downloads it, checks it and starts MASS again. Turn on Beta updates there to get test builds first. Updating from inside MASS uses your signature; without internet, MASS keeps working on the version it has.

REST API
Your software calls the same engine
While MASS is running, its engine answers on this computer (127.0.0.1), port 8000 unless something else holds it. The endpoints are the SDK server's.

If ma-anpr server is already running on port 8000, MASS shows that engine and never stops it. An engine MASS started stops when you quit MASS.
